Hello to June

Hello to June. Boy has it been another hot day today, so hot that I’ve done nothing really productive today apart from design some new cards which will be on sale as soon as I get some more seed paper to print on.

These new cards have wildflower seeds embedded into the paper so the lucky recipient can plant the card (re-cycle) and have some lovely wild flowers in their garden. Good eh? At the moment there are four designs to choose from but they are not yet in my online shop.

When it cooled down I mowed my lawn and re-claimed part of my garden which has been over grown with Forget me nots, wild Violets and wild Strawberry plants. It took me a while to tidy it up and I’d wish that I had taken a before and after pic but I didn’t, tomorrow I will when it has been planted up. I have Tobacco plants (Nicotiana) and more sunflowers to plant which will provide long-lived colour, fragrance and much needed height in the borders.

This evening I decided to try out one of the new functions on my phone – light painting – so I decided to use the solar lights that I have dotted around the garden! Not bad – abstract art perhaps – but I don’t think they are going to win any awards lol!

I just love the way tiny beads of dew are placed along the stem of the dandelion (Taraxacum officinalis).

So delicate and so precise. The seed has very tiny hooks on them if you look closer.

Dandelions have many herbal uses and are a good early source of nectar and pollen for insects especially bees.
