If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe, then man would have only four years of life left.
Albert Einstein
No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants,
no more animals, no more man

Again I woke up at 5:30am. These early mornings are fabulous on sunny days. I can sit with my cup of tea and listen to the hum of the bees and the birds chattering in the trees. This morning I noticed that a bee had flown into the house and was exhausted (probably having buzzed around to get out!)
Anyway I got a spoonful of sugar water and the bee soon started to drink it up. He must have been five to ten minutes then did a bit of a clean up and buzzed off! I felt so good and it was only 6 o’clock!
The distance each bee flies in its life is astonishing. It is possible for forager bees to fly about 3 miles for food … an average distance would be less than a mile from the hive.
A strong colony therefore flies the equivalent distance from Earth to the Moon everyday.
The normal top speed of a worker would be about
The British Beekeepers Association
15-20mph (21-28km/h) when flying to a food source and about 12mph (17km/h) when returning with nectar, pollen … or water.
Petition
Stop the importation of honey bees into GB from the EU via Northern Ireland
The UK Government should ensure that people cannot circumvent restrictions on the movement of bees from the EU to GB by moving them via NI. Unrestricted movement of bees could allow Small Hive Beetle to arrive and devastate British beekeeping.
yes, that’s exactly right. I love the bees for so many reasons. great shots of them –

I had one in my truck yesterday. I stopped right away so that we weren’t too far from his home to let him out. They are so precious.
