This was taken a few years ago when there was a beautiful corn field and wild flower meadow where 1,000s of Poppies grew, turning the field a brilliant shade of red In July and August.
This is the image today. A new 700 home mini village is built on the land and this is all that remains of the field of Poppies (approx. 24.3 hectares).
There is far too much land & wild flower meadows that are been used to build new villages and out of town shopping centers.
The natural habitat for wild flowers and animals is diminishing at a vast rate. Making many species on the brink of extinction.
A few years ago I took this image. An owl, maybe a bird of prey hovering over the same field at sunrise. Where are they going to hunt now?
Is this progress?

That is so sad, why do we have to keep building on green field sites?
