This morning I was woken up by the wind and a huge bang! My parasol (which is broken and I can’t take down) was blown over and had crushed several Cosmos & marigolds which had survived the slugs!
The other day is was boiling and I couldn’t sleep, now I’m back into wearing jackets and having leaves strewn across the garden.
…the UK has been on average 6% wetter over the last 30 years
Mett Office – 29/7/21
According to todays Met Office article it has ‘…shown that climate change is already being felt across the UK. All of the top-ten warmest years for the UK in records back to 1884 have occurred since 2002, and, for central England, the 21st century so far has been warmer than the previous three centuries.’
The UK’s climate has continued to warm, with 2020 the first year to have temperature, rain and sunshine rankings all in the top 10.

So, today I have been pressing Daisies, Cosmos & marigolds (before the flowers are completely destroyed by the weather), ready to make into more cards/paper for my up coming Showcase in York .
I use my Microfleur to press them which literally takes about 20/30 seconds (depending on the flowers) instead of weeks flattening between the pages of a book. I will do a piece on my Microfleur soon so watch out for it if you are interested.
This image was used photographed on the lightbox and then the image layered over several times to create this effect.

That flower image is beautiful – I look forward to reading more about the process in due course. And I know what you mean about the weather – it’s been crazy this month!
