The last weekend in August

Wow! How did we get get to September (nearly) so quickly? This year has flown by so fast. Maybe because it has been such a lovely Summer with lots of lovely sunshine and (too) hot weather.
This year I have not travelled very much with my camera, hopefully will get out and about in the Autumn months (my favourite season).

Another photograph to water colour style image for this lovely Friday evening. Hope you like this one.

I’m back! Sorry for the silence for the past few weeks which have been so busy and hot, that I’ve neglected a journal post! But, I’m here with some time to write one, I’m also in the process of maybe changing domain name as I’ve gone back to wordpress.com for now.

As it has been too hot and bright for me to focus on photography I’ve been working on creating some effects using Photoshop. It isn’t just a button that you press to create these, you have to have many layers and change the filters etc. Each one can create up to 30-60 minutes to create.

If any of you are interested in creating your own drop me a message on here and I’ll add a link to the tutorial that I use on YouTube.

What a most beautiful start to the start of the UK Summer holidays.

A more enjoyable heat of 20+ instead of searing 35°+

Time

It’s been a glorious week. Getting back into the garden is a great feeling especially when the temperature has hit 18o
With the lovely weather has brought out lots of dandelions, daffodils, bees, blossom and green leaves.

Good News! The clocks are changing tonight (March 27th UK) marks the beginning of Daylight Saving Time – and Mothering Sunday. Also known simply as ‘summer time’, Daylight Savings in the UK runs from the last Sunday of March to the end of October. I am so glad and looking forward to being able to sit outside longer with a glass of the fizzy stuff!

Many will be glad to shake off winter (especially me) – although wintry weather is expected this week – as we move further along 2022.

Longer days and later sunsets are also ahead because ‘astronomical spring’ – based off the position of Earth’s orbit in relation to the sun – officially started on March 20th. The clocks will change at 1am on the 27th, jumping ahead one hour. Daylight Savings is observed on different days worldwide as America and Canada changed their clocks two weeks ago.

It’s not about “having” time.

It’s about making time.

Long shadows

Long shadows.
Long days.

We all grow tired eventually; it happens to everyone.
Even the sun, at the close of the year, is no longer a morning person.

The little changes

Spring. Summer. Autumn. Winter

Well today turned out to be a sorcher…an Indian Summer…well, for a few days anyway.

The morning was chilly and the cobwebs were glistening with early morning dew. As I cycled past the fields, with their hay stacked high there was a low mist as the sun tried to burn off the chill.

A few hours later the sun had burned it’s way through and a high of 27 degrees.

Another glorious day. Still in my pj’s soaking up the peace and quiet of my garden. Totally lost track of time, days for a bit.

A neighbour said yesterday ‘Only 153ish days to Ch@! *mas’ Thanks for that, I don’t want to count my days away! Anyway, another glorious day.
